Bali is renowned for its bright and richly cultural ceremonies. There are numerous island-wide religious festivals to mark sacred days according to the Balinese calendar that you can witness or be part of.

  1. Odalan. The coming of the Gods on temple anniversary
  2. Nyepi. Balinese New Year, the day of silence when the whole island shuts
  3. Galungan & Kuningan. Celebrate the creation of the universe, the victory of the good against the evil.
  4. Pagerwesi. A festival dedicated to the spiritual strengthening and development of individuals’ focus against evil.
  5. Tumpek. Every 35 days, Balinese make offering to valuable properties
  6. Full Moon. Full Moon is believed to be the day when God answers prayers and the Balinese prayers includes honoring the shadow and light to find balance in life.
